So, my dear friend, Tessa, told me that
I was really crafty and creative and told me
I was really crafty and creative and told me
I should start a blog about the crafts I do.
Well, since I don't do a ton of crafts,
(in fact, I hardly do anything semi-crafy...haha)

I decided that I would tell you a little about
the occasional craft I do and share my ideas :)

So, speaking of Mrs. Tessa D,
(she just got married a little over a month ago -
so happy for her and By!)
I decided I wanted to do something
a little more meaningful for her wedding present.
Not saying the newly married couples don't love
the cash or the gift cards,
(clearly, I'm not talking from experience - just what I've heard)
but I wanted to do something with a bit more
thought to it for one of my closest friends.

Sidenote:
When Tessa and I lived together last summer for a bit,
When Tessa and I lived together last summer for a bit,
she loved when I would make this 4-layer pistachio dessert.
In fact, we used to eat it straight from the pan in the kitchen.
We would both just eat it row by row with our forks
and then smooth it out so no one could tell we ate it.
Haha, we're so cool. :)
Anyways, to the point of this post...
a great wedding gift idea :)
So, since one of T's favorite recipes of mine
was the 4-layer bars,
I decided I would make them for her,
put a recipe book together,
and put the ingredients in the package as well.
So, she had the bars already made,
and the ingredients and directions to make
them for herself and her husband :).
I thought it turned out pretty cute.
I couldn't find a recipe book that I liked,
so I created my own.
I picked up a spiral bound index card book
and bought some stickers to decorate the cover...
making it look like an actual recipe book :)
Then, I wrote some of the recipes for things I made
that I knew Tessa loved so she could have the recipe too :)

I bought the mixing bowls,
and placed the ingredients in there.
I tried putting the ingredients that were
mixed together in their separate bowls
(since for this recipe anyways, there are 4 different layers..worked out pretty nice!)
and Voilà! A great wedding gift :)
(If I do say so myself!)
Tessa told me that they devoured the bars very quickly...
and then a couple weeks later, she made the bars using the ingredients
and recipe I gave her, and it was a hit :)
Success!
