Angels.

"I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love."

I love Country Music.
I love Alabama.
I love that song.
It's the truth.
I really do believe there are
"angels among us."
God doesn't leave us alone.
I read a talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
from the October 2008 General Conference,
Beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful.

I have been having a very emotional
day/week for some reason.
I can't seem to shake it.
Today, I was running an errand for work,
thinking about my downer mood,
and all of a sudden,
I looked up to see my roommate
walking towards me, waving with excitement.
An angel indeed.
Elder Holland said,

"When we speak of those who are
instruments in the hand of God,
we are reminded that not all angels
are from the other side of the veil.
Some of them we walk with and talk with—
here, now, every day.
Some of them reside in our own neighborhoods.
Some of them gave birth to us,
and in my case, one of them consented to marry me.
Indeed heaven never seems closer than when
we see the love of God manifested in the
kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure
that angelic is the only word that comes to mind."

Yup. My roommate is an angel.
That may sound cheesy, but it's the truth.
I needed her - especially today.
I was having a pretty rough day at work,
and her kindness just warmed my heart,
and made me feel so much better.
Heavenly Father is really looking out for me.
He has given me some pretty amazing people
- some pretty amazing Angels -
to help me get through these tough days.

There really are "Angels Among Us"
as Alabama sings about.
You can really see them everywhere.
And the love that you feel from them
is proof that Heavenly Father loves
and knows each and every one of us.
