Country Girl

This is some of us Storey granddaughters dancing to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" at Grandpa Lester's 65th birthday. Yes, I am the little girl in the pink, and yes, I know that I have no idea what I am doing in this video, but then again, I am only 4 years old, so I feel I'm doing pretty good :). (Dawna is the girl with the striped shirt on the far right, getting real into it :) and Ashley is in the pink pants. We're too cute :) haha!)

Here's one thing that my future husband will have to love: COUNTRY MUSIC. Why my future husband? Well, most of my friends already put up with my country addiction, and because, he's going to have to put up with listening to country music our entire lives, so he better like it or he will go crazy. :)
Here's a couple reasons why I love country music so much...

1) The lyrics are usually meaningful.
Ex: I love Garth Brooks. I was walking to school this morning, listening to Garth, and one of my favorite songs of his comes on my ipod: The River. I love this song! Here's some of the lyrics...

"Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide
I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
But with the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all"

 See? So good, right?

2) I love country dancing!
Two-stepping is my favorite! I can remember learning how to two-step at the good ol' Storey Family Reunions. Dad would teach us, and then as we got older, Dad or one of my uncles would whip us out on the dance floor and two step across the concrete in Grandpa's quonset at the family reunions. It was so much fun. I love it! I can also remember my junior year of high school my parents chaperoned one of the monthly dances so I could get prom hours, and "Fishin' in the Dark" by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band came on, and sure enough, my dad took my hand and we two-stepped in front of all my friends and the other students at the dance. I loved it! :) Also, it's pretty much become a Storey tradition to do the "Boot-Scootin' Boogie" dance that we did for my Grandpa's 65th birthday. I think that every wedding reception I have been to on the Storey side, that song has come on, and all of us girls get out there and do the dance. I love it! (See video below..back in the day :).. haha) So, needless to say, that I will do this at my wedding reception, and probably for the rest of my life anytime the song comes on. I will also two-step at my wedding with my husband and with my dad. It will happen. Hahaha! :)

Ok, so, basically, I just love country. Don't dis it in front of me, or you will get smacked. Ok, you won't get smacked, but I will not be happy with you. :)
