A Half Marathoner...

So, apparently this is my 100th blog post.
Whoa.
Isn't this some landmark?
I suppose so, right? :)

Well, good.
I have some GREAT news then
for this 100th post.

I ran a HALF MARATHON!
Wooo!
It was pretty chilly.
Like, 50 degrees to be exact.
But, I did it!

Despite the hour and a half wait to get on the bus,
and the long line for the bathroom pre-race,

(port-a-potty, by the way)
[for those of you that don't know me,
the way I feel about port-a-potties
is in the same department
as mascots, clowns, etc.
you get the idea.
also, when it's dark
in the port-a-potty and someone
tries to open the door of the one I'm in...
you will hear me scream a little]

Despite the cold and the smelly farm we ran by,
and despite the fact that at mile 10
I was already wanting to be done,
I finished.
Shortly after hitting mile 11,
the adrenaline kicked in,
and I wanted to run as fast as I could.
Mile 12.5, I made sure
"Old Alabama" by Brad Paisley
was blasting on my iPod
and I made my big finish :)
Nothing like finishing a half marathon
listening to the beautiful Brad.
Hahah!

Here's some pictures from the big day.
You're going to want to watch that video too.
:)

Pre-race - matching shirts! Woo!
Looking wayyy too excited at mile 6.
Smelly farm around mile 9.
Finishing as strong as I think I can.
 And we're done!
Couldn't have done it without her :)

So, this video is Pre-Race.
We're freezing waiting for the bus.
Decided to dance a little to make us warm.
We definitely thought Justin was taking a picture...

Overall, I think I'm going to do another one!
They are actually a lot of fun,
and I've come to love running.
Weird, right?
But....good :)
