What do you do when you can't sleep? Why, you turn on your 90's music (N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees - you know, all your middle school jams), hop in your pajamas, and blog of course. Ok, I'm sure that's not what most people do, but apparently that's what I am doing now. I was looking at some of my friends' adorable blogs, and I realized it had been a while, so I decided I'd blog a little bit.
Life is pretty crazy these days. My mind has been racing non-stop for weeks now. Sometimes I wish we could put life on pause for like 2 seconds, or at least have a slow motion button. I feel like life goes by way too fast sometimes. Then, there's other days where I wish life could just speed up. It's a love-hate relationship that I have with growing up - that's for sure.
Since I last blogged, I was able to go home for a little bit for Christmas break. It was great! I loved being home and spending time with family and friends. I definitely miss Minnesota while I'm out here, but I love Provo at the same time. Again, another love-hate relationship I have. (I tend to have a lot of those).
This semester, I am very busy with classes, work, keeping up with my BYU Cougs, and just trying to maintain some sort of a social life. Life is great, though. Crazy, but great. I was able to witness my BYU Cougars beating the #4 team in the nation, San Diego State University in the Marriott Center in men's basketball. It was absolutely wild. After a long wait outside, I ended up 3rd row at the game (thanks to my brother) and even rushed the court after the game. A definite highlight of my BYU experience thus far :).
So, overall life is good. It's got its ups and downs, but overall, I am happy. I am getting a little anxious about having only one year left at BYU, so stress is beginning to sink in with future plans: mission, graduate school, staying in Provo, moving away, the list goes on and on. Lots of decisions to be made in the future, that's for sure.
But, I am excited! I have high hopes for the future, and I know that everything will work out the way that it is supposed to. I read a quote by President Monson in his new biography that I got for Christmas, and it has become my new favorite. He said,
"Do your duty, that is best;
Leave unto the Lord the rest."
So great. I absolutely love that quote, and I put it on my wall as a reminder. (Feel free to do the same). :)
Well, some day I'll try getting around to adding more pictures to this thing, so if anyone reads it, they can see what is actually going on in my life. Like my friend Kendra said, her blog is kind of like a journal for her, and since I'm awful at writing in my journal (I'm trying to get better - promise), at least I'll have some sort of memory-saving thing. Even if it is a silly blog. :)
Love!
(PS, I was in the testing center last week and saw the following sign as I was leaving,
"L .... is for Jimmer.
O .... is for Jimmer.
V .... is for Jimmer.
E .... is for Jimmer.
We love Jimmer!
Hope you Jimmered that test."
Thank you, Testing Center, for using Jimmer as a verb. Love it.)
